Our volunteers typically arrive between 4:30 and 4:45 and assist with set up, meal distribution, and break down. We are committed to keeping this operation streamlined so that you can get to the fellowship hall in time for community announcements.

Brief introduction of team members and presentation by Ben Wegleitner, Urban Watershed Coordinator of The Nature Conservancy about best practices to reduce storm runoff and create green spaces with native plants on campuses like ours.

The grace of peace
Come to the Fellowship Hall for a talk and book signing by Rev. John Dear, world renown peace activist and author of The Gospel of Peace:
A Commentary on Matthew, Mark and Luke from the Perspective of Nonviolence. This event is in partnership with Mary’s House, a Catholic Worker house in Birmingham, Alabama.

Saturday, March 16
the grace of justice
BCOC has a group reservation for 25 people on Saturday, March 16 to visit the museum at 10:30am and the memorial site at 1:30pm. In the middle of the two experiences, we will come together for a picnic lunch and debrief.
At this time, the plan is to caravan in cars with families traveling together. Rides will be organized for students who want to go without an adult in their family.
On March 4, registration will open to the church at large for any unclaimed tickets.

THE GRACE OF BEING FREE
Join the Perennials on a visit to the Birmingham Art Museum to view various exhibits and works of art which explore ideas of freedom and liberation. Admission is free!

April 29
DEE DAH! SCRAMBLE GOLF TOURNAMENT
The fifteenth annual dee dah! 4-person scramble golf tournament is scheduled for Monday, April 29 and will be held at Highland Park Golf Course. The day will start at 7:00 am with registration, range balls, and breakfast for participants and volunteers, followed by a round of golf on a fun and challenging course. The day will end with lunch for participants and volunteers and prizes for all. Proceeds from the tournament will be used for contributions to the Common Table fund and scholarships to children and youth camps. Register your team or sponsor a hole now!
